Five Things Friday: Insane Summer Goals

Copy of Five Things Friday!

This summer I want to do more than complete a summer bucket list. I want to challenge myself to do things that are doable, but that also take a lot of work. Right now I have more free time on my hands then anyone else I know. If my budget wasn’t ZERO, I would be an unstoppable force! However, I have to be realistic.

There are some classic summer to-do’s that I, of course, want to do. Participate in the library summer reading program. Go to the beach (Here in Michigan all of our beaches feature salt-free water, hurray!) I’ve been constantly stepping up my fitness game. I also want to try new things.

My opinion is that summer is June 1 – August 31.

Twelve weeks.

5 Insane Goals.

Here they are:

Five Things Friday: Insane Summer Goals

1. Read 12 Books

This is probably the most insane goal for me. That’s 12 books in 12 weeks. The other stipulation I have is that they have to be books that I haven’t read before. So, no cruising through the Harry Potter series for the twentieth time. I’m in the process of compiling a list, so if you have any recommendations, I’m open to almost anything.

2. Lose 5 Pounds

Since March I’ve finally started losing weight. It’s been a slow process, but at least it’s happening. I’ve cut out a lot of sugary foods and drinks. Now I want to focus on balancing my diet and get into a daily fitness regimen.

3. Create 10 Drawings

Drawing with colored pencils is a hobby I’m slowly getting better at. I need a little push to keep practicing and doodling on a regular basis.

4. Journal EVERY Day

I love to write, but every 3-4 days I lose my stride and miss a few days. I always want to write everyday, so this is a challenge for me to get into the habit and hopefully stick to it.

5. Visit 6 New Places

This one is a little tricky and might require some driving time. I’ve already visited a lot of the places worth exploring in Mid-Michigan. The capitol, the natural history museum, Impression 5, Art Prize, Fred Meijer Gardens, the zoos, apple orchards, and so many parks! What am I missing? Where should I go? It has to be reasonably close.

I’ll make sure to post updates throughout the summer. This should be interesting.

Happy beginning of summer!
