Let’s be honest here, it’s hard to enjoy summer when you don’t have Air Conditioning. Or if your AC sucks. There’s only so much a cold glass of water and a fan can do. I’ve used ice-packs, peppermint oil, taken cold showers, and I’m still sweating away.
I used to love summer. The hotter it got, the happier I was. I’d soak in the sun, ride my bike, keep the windows open.
Five Things I Hate About Summer
1. Difficulty Sleeping
Pictured above is this nifty fan that keeps you cool under the covers. I kind of want to try it, but I also don’t want to pay three digits for it.
2. Unable to Enjoy Hot Chocolate or Coffee
What I wouldn’t give for a nice, hot latte. Instead, because I’m not great at making my own iced coffee, I’ve just been doing without.
3. Constantly Sweating
My pores have never been cleaner.
4. Cuddling is Uncomfortable
I can’t stand the touch of skin on skin when I’m already burning up. It also doesn’t help that my cats are so cute and I can’t love them and squeeze them to show my affections.
It has been so hard to keep my eczema in check this summer. It’s hot, humid, and I’m stressed because it’s hot and humid. That makes me itchy all over. Thank goodness for the portable air conditioner in the bedroom. We can close the door and enjoy an oasis.
I’m going to enjoy an ice cold beverage now. Have a great weekend!
