Living in Greenville Mi is much different than living in Lansing Mi, where I grew up. At the supermarket they’re always out of a couple items that really screws up your 10 for $10 shopping list. The popular gas station sells popcorn. And every year there’s a giant flea market the residents call the Danish Festival.
There’s a little more to it than that. A parade. Hot air balloons. Music. Hans Christian Andersen Events. Most of which I pass, but I do like to participate in some of the fun.
5 Things I Like About the Danish Festival
1. Lion’s Head Water Fountain
My mother has a picture of us kids standing next to one of these back when I was about five years old. Now, whenever I see one, I snap a picture and send it to her.
2. Festival Food
Way overpriced but way worth it!
3. Unique Art
This turtle is made from sand. I also saw a lot of homemade bags and purses. Shawn had to hold my hand and move me away from them.
4. The BIG Chair
This chair was huge! Plus it had SIX cup-holders!!! Living the dream here.
5. Maple Root Beer
No image, 😦
The reason there is no image is because I couldn’t find any maple root beer this year. I love the stuff and specifically set aside a couple dollars for it. So, that was a bummer.
Tomorrow I’m working all day so I’ll miss out on the big parade. I’m sure it will be great.
