Buried in the depths of a notebook I’ve had since senior year of High School, lies my thoughts, ideas, a couple to-do lists, and blogging topics I’ve come up with in the last couple of weeks. I’ve been a-wall for a little over a week so that I could dedicate my time to my family’s needs. That entailed MANY hours traveling in a car with minimal foot space.
I love my family, and I was thrilled to be able to help them out. I have so much to share about the experience and what’s been on my mind, but first, let me share my Five Favorite Things that I didn’t have time to post before the trip.
1. Tim Hortons Coupons
I went through half a sheet of coupons for Tim Hortons. From breakfast sandwiches to TimBits (all of them chocolate), I’ve been enjoying nearly half-priced items from the Canadian coffee chain. When do the next coupons come out? I’ve starting to crave a chocolate glazed doughnut as I write this.
2. Cinnamon Toast Crunch
If there was such a thing as a cinnamon addiction, I would have it. This cereal is like dessert to me. Well, so are Pop Tarts. I’m sure that these high calorie items aren’t going to help me lose weight. Stop putting them on sale, Meijer!
3. Sticker from the Doctor’s Office
Ever since I got married last year and moved to Greenville, Michigan, I’ve been driving back and forth to East Lansing for my doctor’s appointments. Thankfully I was recently accepted into a local doctor and I had my first visit this week. Everything went well and I’m thankful to be a part of the great local health system. As I was checking out, I saw a basket full of stickers. This one was on top and it’s sooo me on my “blah” days.
4. Bobby Pins
Oh, the simplicity of the bobby pin! I must have about a hundred of these things. Plus, you can get decent ones at the Dollar Tree. I’m not great at doing fancy hair styles, and I wouldn’t be capable of much without these.
5. Bringing Out Summer Clothes
Michigan has two seasons, winter and construction…er, summer. Haha, but seriously, I’m sensitive to the cold, so I always dress warmer. I cherish warm weather, and I love mid-May because I can start bringing out my short sleeves. I got a pair of jean shorts on sale (only $5) at JC Penny, and it feels so good to move freely without leg warmers, a jacket, gloves and a hat.
